About Book

Koomi is born in the Shahi Mohallah of Lahore, but his story stretches far beyond what is apparent. From Koomi’s immensely talented, alcoholic mother to his enigmatic yogi grandfather; from the decrepit kanjarkhana in Lahore to the cultural shocks that ‘Mabad has to offer; from the adorable Rumi to the marriage muddles of Eemoo and Oobba, the tale swings and swoons through friendship, heartbreak, spirituality and above all, the drunkenness of music. ‘Kirmir’ is a story of love and healing and laughing in the face of lamentation. It is a story of intoxication and nameless ecstasies. It is a story of the Divine, the demons and the deviants. ‘Kirmir’ is a celebration of the magic of life.
