Pehli Kitab published in 1981 was the first issue of the storied and venerable Urdu Literary Journal Aaj. Aaj is a must read for erudite and intellectual readers in Pakistan and beyond. AAJ is a quarterly Urdu journal of literature and ideas. To date more than 100 issues of AAJ have been published.

Ajmal Kamal is the Editor and Publisher of City Press. He has edited and published AAJ, a quarterly Urdu journal of literature and ideas from Karachi since the 1980s. The literary Urdu journal AAJ has more than a 100 published issues. City Press, is a small publishing house for Urdu, English and Sindhi works.
